We continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 outbreak and possible implications for our community and district. At this time, we have not implemented any restrictions on travel, scheduled field trips or district activities. Please note however that this is a fluid situation and our plans could quickly change. We remain in contact with our local Health Department and are receiving regular communication from the Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois State Board of Education.
Tomorrow (Thursday), our administrative team will meet to review current conditions and recommendations regarding school closures. We will also be reviewing our E-Learning platform to ensure that we are ready to educate students remotely if that becomes our reality. On Friday afternoon, all public schools in DeKalb County will be meeting at the DeKalb County Health Department for a more in-depth discussion about procedures and protocols.
The health and wellbeing of our students and staff are always our number one concern. We will continue to monitor the situation, continue to communicate with the DeKalb County Health Department, and update our families if further action needs to be taken.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Richard J. Craven
